Aloha Center Chicago

Building our Wahi Pana, Growing our Kinolau, Rebuilding our Māhele in the Chicago-Midwest

The Aloha Center Chicago, established in 2015, stands as a beacon of cultural enrichment and community connection. It serves as a groundbreaking multimedia resource center, embodying indigenous values while offering a diverse range of programs and opportunities.

This unique center hosts a wide array of activities spanning arts and crafts, performing arts, visual arts, music, dance, genealogy research, film, language preservation, culinary arts, and the study of native flora and healing plants. It also encompasses initiatives in health and wellness, as well as the exploration of green technologies such as urban gardening, hydroponics, recycling, and sustainable energy solutions. At its core, the Aloha Center Chicago is dedicated to building a sustainable indigenous model and hub for capacity building, economic development, affordable housing, and preserving Native Hawaiian and South Pacific cultural traditions. It aims to create a welcoming space, a “Wahi Pana,” that serves as a home away from home for Native Hawaiians and a shared cultural outpost for Pacific Islanders and those who cherish their heritage.
